PUBLICATION FEE

Journal of Social and Human Interaction is committed to providing an accessible, transparent, and ethical scholarly publishing process. To support the sustainability of the journal and cover the operational costs associated with manuscript processing and publication, the journal applies an Article Processing Charge (APC) to manuscripts that are accepted for publication.

The publication fee policy is clearly communicated to authors, and payment of any publication fee has no influence on the editorial decision, peer review process, or acceptance of a manuscript.

Article Processing Charge (APC)

The publication fee for an accepted article is:

Article Processing Charge: IDR 200.000 per article

The APC is charged only after the manuscript has successfully completed the peer review process and has been formally accepted for publication.

The APC covers the administrative and technical costs associated with:

  • editorial and manuscript processing;

  • peer review administration;

  • copyediting and proofreading;

  • layout and typesetting;

  • DOI registration and metadata management;

  • online publication through the journal's Open Journal System (OJS); and

  • long-term maintenance of the published article on the journal platform.

The APC does not guarantee acceptance or publication. All manuscripts are subject to the journal's editorial screening and peer review procedures.

No Submission Fee

Journal of Social and Human Interaction does not charge a submission fee.

Authors are not required to make any payment when submitting a manuscript for consideration.

No payment is required to initiate the editorial or peer review process.

No Additional Publication Charges

Unless otherwise explicitly stated on this page, the journal does not charge additional fees for:

  • the number of pages within the journal's standard article format;

  • tables and figures;

  • color figures;

  • supplementary materials; or

  • standard editorial processing.

Any additional charge, if introduced in the future, will be clearly announced on the journal's official website before it becomes applicable.

Waiver and Discount Policy

The journal recognizes that publication fees may present financial challenges for some authors.

Authors who experience genuine financial difficulties may request a full or partial APC waiver. Requests for a waiver should be submitted to the editorial office before or immediately after manuscript acceptance and must include a brief explanation of the circumstances.

Waiver requests will be considered on a case-by-case basis.

The availability or approval of a waiver will not affect the editorial evaluation, peer review, acceptance, or rejection of a manuscript.

International Authors

The journal welcomes submissions from authors worldwide.

For authors outside Indonesia, the APC may be converted into an equivalent amount in an internationally applicable currency based on the exchange rate used by the journal at the time of invoicing.

International authors who experience financial difficulties may also apply for a partial or full APC waiver in accordance with the journal's waiver policy.

Payment Procedure

Payment instructions will be provided by the editorial office only after a manuscript has received an official Acceptance Decision.

Authors should not make any payment before receiving an official publication fee notification from the journal.

The journal will issue appropriate payment or invoice documentation for every APC transaction.

Editorial Independence

The Journal of Social and Human Interaction maintains a strict separation between editorial decision-making and financial considerations.

Payment of the APC, the author's ability to pay, or a waiver request will never be used as a criterion for accepting or rejecting a manuscript.

Editorial decisions are based solely on the manuscript's academic quality, originality, relevance to the journal's focus and scope, methodological rigor, ethical compliance, and scholarly contribution.

This policy is consistent with international principles of transparency and best practice in scholarly publishing, which require journals that charge author fees to clearly disclose the fees and ensure that fee arrangements do not influence editorial decisions.

Refund Policy

Once an article has been formally accepted and the publication process has commenced, APC payments are generally non-refundable, except in circumstances determined by the journal in accordance with its editorial and financial policies.

If an article is rejected during peer review or editorial evaluation, no APC will be charged.
