Author Guidelines

Jurnal Transformasi Sosial Nusantara (JTSN) welcomes original manuscripts that present significant contributions to the field of social sciences, particularly studies related to social transformation in Indonesia and the Global South. Authors are requested to follow the guidelines below to ensure a smooth review and publication process.

1. Scope of Manuscripts

JTSN publishes research articles, conceptual papers, case studies, and literature reviews in the fields of sociology, social welfare, poverty studies, social development, community empowerment, corporate social responsibility (CSR), social policy, gender studies, and other contemporary social issues.

2. Originality and Submission

Manuscripts must be original, unpublished, and not under consideration by any other journal. Submissions should be made through the journal’s online submission system. The journal uses plagiarism detection software; manuscripts with a high similarity index may be rejected.

3. Manuscript Language

Manuscripts may be written in English (preferred) or Bahasa Indonesia using clear and academic language. Authors whose first language is not English are encouraged to have their manuscripts proofread before submission.

4. Manuscript Format

  • Manuscripts should be prepared in Microsoft Word format (.doc or .docx).

  • Length: approximately 5,000–8,000 words, including references.

  • Paper size: A4, margins 2.5 cm on all sides.

  • Font: Times New Roman, size 12 pt, single spacing.

  • Pages should be numbered consecutively.

5. Structure of the Manuscript

The manuscript should be organized as follows:

a. Title
Concise, informative, and not exceeding 15 words.

b. Author Information
Include full name(s), institutional affiliation(s), email address of the corresponding author, and ORCID ID (if available).

c. Abstract
A single paragraph of 150–250 words summarizing the background, objectives, methods, results, and conclusions.

d. Keywords
Provide 3–5 keywords that reflect the main topics of the paper.

e. Introduction
Explain the background, research problem, objectives, and significance of the study, supported by relevant literature.

f. Methods
Describe research design, data sources, sampling techniques, instruments, and data analysis methods.

g. Results and Discussion
Present findings clearly and discuss their implications in relation to previous studies and theoretical perspectives.

h. Conclusion
Summarize the main findings and provide recommendations or implications for future research and practice.

i. Acknowledgments (Optional)
Recognize funding sources or contributions from individuals or institutions.

j. References
List all cited works in alphabetical order.

6. Citation and Referencing Style

JTSN uses the APA Style (6th or latest edition). Authors must ensure that all in-text citations appear in the reference list and vice versa. References should primarily consist of recent scholarly sources.

7. Tables and Figures

Tables and figures should be numbered consecutively and provided with clear titles and sources. They must be cited in the text and placed close to where they are first mentioned.

8. Ethical Considerations

Research involving human participants or sensitive data must comply with ethical standards. Authors should disclose any potential conflicts of interest and sources of funding.

9. Review Process

All submitted manuscripts undergo a peer-review process. The editor reserves the right to accept, reject, or request revisions.

10. Copyright and Licensing

Authors retain copyright of their work while granting the journal the right to publish the article. Published articles may be distributed under an open-access license according to the journal’s policy.
