Aligning Village Funds With The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) (Study in Lafinde Village, Barangka Sub district, West Muna Regency)

Abstract

This study aims to examine the alignment between the Village Fund and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and to explore the mechanisms by which the Village Fund is aligned with the SDGs. This is a qualitative study. Informants were selected using purposive sampling, comprising village officials, the Chair of the Village Consultative Council (BPD), village facilitators and residents of Lafinde village. The data sources used in this study were primary and secondary data. The data collection techniques employed were interviews, observation and documentation. The data analysis process comprised data collection, data reduction, data presentation and drawing of conclusions. The results of this study indicate that, although significant efforts have been made to integrate SDG principles into the planning and use of village funds, challenges remain. The management of village funds under Law No. 6 of 2014 aims to improve community welfare through various planned development programmes. However, the implementation of programmes aligned with the SDGs remains limited, with only a few objectives having been successfully achieved.Furthermore, community participation in the drafting of the Village Government Work Plan (RKPDesa) is crucial, but budgetary constraints often hinder the implementation of the proposals put forward. Although the village government is committed to transparency and community involvement, interviews with residents revealed that many of them do not yet understand the concept of the SDGs, resulting in a lack of active participation.
